Je suis presque sûre que vous vous demandez tous : « mais
pourquoi elle aime
Gary Sinise ? »
J'entends souvent : je ne
comprends pas comment tu peux l'aimer il
n'est pas beau, il a une tête de fouine
(merci Jean & Kelly pour la remarque), il
est vieux et ses yeux
ressemblent à des bonbons à la menthes
trop sucés (merci Didi pour la comparaison),...
Je vais donc
vous expliquer pourquoi j'aime Gary
Sinise....
... Il était une fois une petite fille qui
un jour tomba malade
(vive les gastro-entérites...). Un soir,
ne pouvant pas s'endormir à cause des
maux de ventre, la petite fille se lève pour
se mettre devant la
télé pour penser à autre chose.
Elle tombe alors sur *biiip* (pas de pub sur
la chaîne TV en question), sur laquelle
est diffusée la série « les Expert : Manhattan ». La petite fille croit reconnaître un jeune homme
(ok, il à l'air
jeune) . Elle réfléchit.... Et
réalise
qu'elle a déjà vu cet
homme dans « la ligne
verte » (film extrêmement apprécié par la petite
fille). Elle regarde les épisodes de la
série en
question diffusés ce
jour-là. Elle trouve
que cette série est extrêmement bien
réalisée, les acteurs
sont géniaux,... Bref
elle se dit
qu'elle va regarder encore. Mais les examens
arrivant, elle oublie complètement de
regarder. Puis un autre jours elle retombe
de nouveaux
sur cette série, qu'elle décide
de regarder chaque semaine
(jusqu'à ce que les deux chaînes
qui diffusent la série décident d'arrêter de la
diffuser
en plein milieu de la troisième saison {les
salauds !}). Mais
entre la première
fois qu'elle a regardé
la série et la dernière fois
qu'elle a été diffusée, la petite fille a fait
des recherches pour découvrir l'identité du bel homme, connu
dans la série sous le nom
de « Mac
Taylor ».
Ce beau monsieur n'est autre
que... GARY SINISE
!
Gary Sinise en quelques mots pour la petite fille: beau, grand, brun
aux yeux bleus, un talent inimitable (Victor Garber est aussi un bon
acteur, mais pas aussi talentueux
que Gary...) aussi bien en interprétation à l'écran ou au théâtre qu'en musique.
Bref vous avez compris :
Gary Sinise c'est son
homme idéal, mais aussi un acteur exceptionnel et un bassiste hors
paire.
C'est pour ça que la petite fille l'aime...
... Et cette petite fille, c'est moi.

I often hear: I don't understand why
you love him, he isn't handsome, he
has a face of beech marten (thanks

and his eyes look like too much sucked mint candies

So, I'm gonna explain you why I love
Gary Sinise...
...Once upon a time a little girl. One
day, she felt sick (I love gastroenteritis...). One
night, not being able to sleep because of the pain,
the little girl got up to watch the
TV to think about something else.
She arrived then on *biiip* (no publicity on the aforementioned TV
chain), where the TV show “CSI: NY” is
diffused. The little girl thinks she recognized a young man (ok, he seems
young) who plays in
the TV show. She's thinking...
and finally
realizes that she already has
seen the man in “the
green mile” (a movie
the little girl appreciates a lot). She watches the episodes which
are diffused that
night. She find the TV show
is really good, actors
are amazing, In short, she tells herself she's gonna
watch it again. But exams
are coming,
she totally forgot to watch. Another day,
she falls
on this TV show again, and she decides
to watch it every week (until the
two chains which were
diffusing the TV
show stop to show it
in the middle of the
third season {bastards!}). But
between the first
time she watched it
and the last time
it has been diffused, the little girl have
done some researches to
find out the identity of the
nice man, known in
the TV show as “Mac Taylor”.
This nice man is nobody but... GARY SINISE!
Gary Sinise in a few words for
the little girl: handsome, tall, brown hair with
blue eyes, an inimitable
talent (Victor Garber's a
fine actor too, but not as talented as
Gary...)
as well in interpretation on screen or on the stage
as in music.
I short you've understood: Gary
Sinise's
her ideal man,
but also an exceptional actor and an amazing bass
player.
That's why the little girl loves him....

Fils de Millie et Robert L. SINISE, Gary Allan Sinise voit le jour le 17 mars 1955
à Blue Island.
Aîné d'une famille de trois enfants, il grandit dans l'Illinois (Blue Island).
Depuis son plus jeune âge il baigne dans un climat favorisant le 7e Art. Son père est, en effet, monteur professionnel pour la télévision et le cinéma. (Il produira en 1992 « Des Souris et des Hommes », second film dirigé par Gary).
Sa famille déménage pour Highland Park, où il
entame ses années de lycée.
Mais les études ne le passionnent pas vraiment. Il préfère, de loin, s'adonner à l'une de ses passions : la musique.
Il joue alors les rocks stars, se produisant déjà sur scène, dans des groupes de rock garage en tant que chanteur et
bassiste.
Passion qu'il conservera jusqu'à nos jours, donnant
des concerts, avec son groupe The Lt. Dan
Band, dès que son emploi du temps le lui permet,
le plus souvent au profit d'oeuvres caritatives.
Au lycée, son professeur d'art dramatique, Barbara
PATTERSON (avec qui il garde encore contacte de nos
jours), le convie, en compagnie de trois de ses amis, à participer à la pièce
« West Side Story ».
Grâce à cette interprétation une grande aventure commence alors : celle du Théâtre...
Son premier rôle de professionnel du théâtre, arrive à
l'âge de 17 ans dans la pièce
« The Physicist ».
En 1974, alors âgé de 19 ans, Gary
SINISE a quitté le lycée depuis longtemps et ne sait vers
quoi s'orienter. Se profile alors l'idée de créer une
petite troupe de théâtre amateur en compagnie de
deux de ses amis.
Au nord de Chicago, (Highland Park), Gary Sinise, Terry
Kinney et Jeff Perry, installent alors
leur QG dans les sous-sols d'une église.
« The Steppenwolf Theatre » est né...
Le groupe connaît des débuts difficiles, se produisant
souvent devant un auditoire composé en tout et pour tout
de quatre personnes,...
...voir pafois de zéro !
En dehors du statut d'acteur, Gary SINISE devient
également Directeur Artistique du Théâtre, et ce
pendant presque sept années.
A force de travail acharné, de persévérance et menée d'une main de fer par son Directeur Artistique, la petite troupe acquiert rapidement
un réel talent. Gagne le respect du publique et celle de
la critique, étendant, au fil des mois, sa
notoriété dans le tout CHICAGO, devenant même une référence dans le pays.
Les acteurs défilant sur planches du « Steppenwolf » ont aujourdhui, pour la plupart, reçu l'ultime consécration : celle de star du
Cinéma.
Notamment : John MALKOVICH, ami de la première heure, ainsi que Moira HARRIS, qu'il rencontra à l'adolescence et qu'il épousera en 1981.
Acteur dans la plupart des pièces étant
représentées, Gary SINISE y dirige également des
productions à succès, entre autre :
« Les raisins de la colère », de 1988 à 1990, (en tournée
à New York, Londres, CHICAGO...), il y incarne "Tom Joad"
aux cotés de ? John MALKOVICH !
Ou encore, ”Un tramway nommé Désir", 1997, de Tennessee WILLIAMS, dans le rôle de "Stanley
KOWALSKI". Faisant un retour aux sources puisque cette
pièce sera jouée à CHICAGO.
La mise en scène de « True West » (pièce de Sam
SHEPPARD), 1982, avait entraîné la compagnie jusqu'à
Broadway.
En tête d'affiche : John MALKOVICH, interprétant “Lee”, et Gary SINISE dans le personnage d'”Austin”.
Fort de son expérience de Directeur Théâtrale, cette
pièce donnera lieu, en 1983, à son premier long métrage
télévisuel...

Gary Alan Sinise was born in Blue
Island, Illinois (parents: Bob & Millie
Sinise).Gary's father is the film
editor Robert L. Sinise, A.C.E.
His family later moved to Highland Park,
where he attended high school. He was something of a rebel, playing in bands but paying little attention to school. Gary and some friends tried out for "West Side Story" as a lark, but Gary was hooked on acting for life by closing night. Gary credits his love for theatre to his drama teacher, Barbara Patterson. In 1974, Gary, Terry Kinney, and Jeff Perry founded the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Initially performing in a church basement, the company grew and gained stature in the Chicago area. In addition to acting in many plays, Gary also directed some of Steppenwolf's most notable productions, including Sam Shepard's "True West". The company made its
off-Broadway debut with that production, starring Gary and 'John Malkovich' and its Broadway debut with "The Grapes of Wrath" at the Cort Theatre in 1990.. Gary's Hollywood career also started in the director's chair with two episodes of the stylish TV series "Crime Story" (1986) followed in 1988 by the feature Miles from
Home (1988) starring Richard Gere. Gary's first
feature film as an actor was the World War II fable A Midnight Clear (1992) in 1992. That year also found Gary combining his acting and directing talents with the critically acclaimed Of Mice and Men (1992). His first real notice by the public came in 1994,
however. He starred in the blockbuster
miniseries "The Stand" (1994) (mini), rapidly followed by his bravura performance as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump (1994). His portrayal of
the disabled, emotionally tortured
veteran earned Gary numerous awards and an Oscar nomination. Busy 1994 was followed by busy 1995, first reuniting with Tom Hanks in Apollo
13 (1995) and then starring in the HBO film
Truman (1995) (TV) which earned him the
Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild
Awards and an Emmy nomination. Gary is married to Moira Harris, an actress and original member of the Steppenwolf company.
They have three children, Sophie, McCanna, and
Ella.
